There are some things very hard to "swallow" in the BtVS comics. I can understand Joss having to adapt the show to the comics format and public, but he shouldn't have changed the previous TV show plot (like the Immortal thing) and some things that are essential for the slayer myth (like the military looks). But, well, I probably will read the comics anyway, 'cos I want to be informed about what's going on and be able to discuss with other people in fandom. I really hope Joss have some good sense with the AtS Season 6 comics *shivers*.
Indeed, the sex comment wasn't explicit about Spike, but it felt like it was, you know. According what we know, he was the last person Buffy made great sex with (after all, if the Immortal was dating a clone, the real Buffy didn't have sex with him *sighs*). But, even if her line was about sex in general, it was kinda cold and selfish all the same, IMO. And, are Bangels mad about the sex thing? I didn't know, lol!!!
About Buffy/Xander, I am really surprised with the possibility of this relationship having a chance, but I am not upset about it. I even think they deserve each other and should get married and have children, lol!!! But if Joss is going to keep his usual ship treatment, we know it will sink eventually. And, like you said, if Xander can keep Buffy away from the vamps, so B/X is very welcome ;-).
