Grrrrrr, I hate that LJ navigation strip. Livejournal put that hateful thing on both my livejournal accounts (this paid one and the free account I have to test layouts) without asking me and I had to disable it again. Plus, I have been seeing it in a lot of journals now and some of them have the personalized layout messed up because of it (usually the accounts using S1 Generator). What the hell?

If you also haaaaaaaaaaate the navigation strip, you can disable it again. Just go to the livejournal main page, log in and click in the Manage option in the menu. Then, under the Settings & Preferences section, click in the Viewing Options link, scroll down the page a bit and uncheck the options:

Navigation strip display options:
- Always see the navigation strip when you view any journal or community
- Always show the navigation strip to anyone who views your journal or community

And I really hope Livejournal stop making things to our accounts arbitrarily *sighs*.

THank you for the link - it's been driving me mad when I visit other people's journals - it's irritating!

You're welcome. I can't believe livejournal keeps doing things like that, grrrrrr. They must think everybody loves that navigation strip *rolls eyes*.

I didn't even notice that they had it turned on for my journal...I'm running a userscript in my browser that hides it everywhere, so I only saw that it had been turned on when I wanted to fix something in my userinfo settings

I don't understand why LJ wants everybody using that navigation strip. It's too ugly, aaaaargh. Everytime I create an account to make a layout preview, it's turned on by default.

I soooo hate it too!
I just found out yesterday how disable it changing my layout, but thank you to share the news.

It's so annoying, isn't it? I hate when someone forces me to use things I don't want, grrrrrr.

Exactly! What terrible attitude. They shouldn't chose for me!

Oh, I hate that thing with all my heart, hehehehe. Don't know why LJ insists in turning the navigation strip on. It doesn't go with pretty layouts, grrrrr.

Thank you - I had managed to turn mine off and now it is back for some reason. LJ confuses me terribly :)

You're welcome!!!

LJ sometimes made me mad. Don't know what the hell they are thinking *sighs*.

Ugh. I saw that thing last night and couldn't get rid of it 'cause my internet decided to go wonky (again.) I've just killed it. I sure hope that thing stays away for a loooong time (talk about annoying!) Do you think garlic and crosses would work? :P

From: [identity profile] amavel-bel.livejournal.com

I would like to find a way to keep my account safe from LJ sudden changes, hehehe. Maybe I could give garlic and crosses a try ;-).

You're welcome, darling. Hope LJ stops making this kind of thing.

Lousy Navigation Strip

I've unchecked the display options and the blasted thing still shows up on some pages.

And they still have nothing in their FAQ about how to get rid of it entirely.

GRRR! Why, why, why have they saddled us with this visual clutter?
