I've been reading a bunch of posts coming from my flist about this LJ thing against some LJ accounts going on and the possibility to hit fandom anytime soon (it seems some Harry Potter comms were already hit). So I guess that not everything about the last week's rumor was just rumor after all. All I know for sure is that some accounts from LJ have been deleted/suspended because they had "unappropriated" words listed in their interests and/or profile.

I'm not going to dig further into this, because I am not that eloquent and not that well-informed about the subject. If you want to get more information, I suggest THIS POST by [livejournal.com profile] vichan and THIS POST by [livejournal.com profile] liz_marcs.

And be careful right now, we are being watched *shivers*.

If you are part of any fandom, join [livejournal.com profile] fandom_counts and be counted. After all, how many are we?

And now this LJ/SixAppart mess hit the news. Take a look at THIS.

They prefer to talk to press instead of their customers (aka us). The "best" quote:

Our decision here was not based on pure legal issues. It was based on what community we want to build and what we think is appropriate within that community and what's not.

Yeah, dear CEO, thanks for the consideration *sighs*.

ETA: And of course, it hit Fandom Wank as well. And this is getting uglier and uglier.

ETA 2: Interesting info about WFI and the Great LiveJournal Strikethrough 2007 at the comm [livejournal.com profile] innocence_jihad.
