I read on the news about what happened at Virginia Tech. I felt very shocked and sad for those who lost their loved ones. And then I read that, because of this tragic event, the discussions about disarmament have been "reopened". Well, the authorities wait for a massacre like that to happen to discuss what could be its causes and what to do to avoid future events like that.
It seems people don't mind about prevention anymore and I am not just talking about disarming, but the mental care of the population, 'cos obviously people who commit mass murder like that surely have some mental/psychologic problem. That's so sad.

That's the problem: Not in this country. No one here will say the guy was nuts, an evil scumbag with problems that would lead him to this. It's televisions fault, video game's fault, gun's faults- Hell- I've even heard this is China's fault.
If they can't accept it, they can't treat it. And if they can't treat it, then.. =/

Here, there IS treatment. But they dont USE it. Because it is so very, very much easier to blame TV, Video Games, etc. They just released plays written by the shooter, and he was obviously mentally derranged- And even the students and faculty recognized this. Students had been afraid of him for some bit. Then when he DOES snap, it's the media, gun control, etc. Nobody can say "The dude was sick."
